The key focus for industry is maintaining safe and secure borders. This can only be achieved through Industry collaboration and regulator engagement which provides the platform for continual development of Industry guidelines, education and introduction of new technology.
The subcommittee is represented by all ports from around in New Zealand and is the conduit for leading this with regular attendance, input and collaboration by regulators and industry leaders through committee meetings at least 4 times per year.
Key Objectives
- Promote the development of improved port security capacity
- Encourage cooperation and collaboration to reduce risk of terrorism and other security related disruptions to New Zealand’s maritime transport system
- To actively exchange information and technical cooperation to improve the security of New Zealand’s Port and Maritime facilities and transport systems.
